# Dashboards

> Build your own boards of charts on the Home page, or copy a built-in one and change it.

**Home** shows one board at a time: one of five built-in boards, or up to 10 of your own per project. A board is a grid of widgets that all follow the board's date range and filters.

## Built-in boards

Pick a board from the board menu at the top of **Home**.

| Board | Shows |
| --------------- | ------------------------------- |
| **Overview** | Everything at a glance |
| **Acquisition** | Where new users come from |
| **Engagement** | Who comes back and what they do |
| **Revenue** | What users spend |
| **Links** | How your links perform |

Built-in boards cannot be edited. To change one, copy it.

## Create a board

### 1. Open the board menu

On **Home**, click the board name at the top of the page.

### 2. Add a board

Click **New board**, enter a name of up to 100 characters, and click **Save**. The board opens empty. At 10 boards, **New board** is disabled.

### 3. Add widgets

Click **Add widget**, or pick a template under **Or start with a template**. See [Widgets](https://docs.grovs.io/docs/analytics/dashboards/widgets).

## Copy a built-in board

### 1. Open the built-in board

Choose it from the board menu on **Home**.

### 2. Copy it

Click **Copy to customise**. Name the copy under **Board name** and untick unwanted widgets under **Widgets to include**.

### 3. Create it

Click **Create board**. The copy appears under **Your boards** and is fully editable. The built-in board is unchanged.

## Edit a board

- **Move a widget**: drag it by its handle.
- **Edit or delete a widget**: choose **Edit** or **Delete** from the widget's actions menu.
- **Rename the board**: choose **Rename** from the board's actions menu.
- **Delete the board**: choose **Delete dashboard** from the board's actions menu. This removes all its widgets and cannot be undone.

## Date range and filters

The date range, filter bar and **Day** / **Week** / **Month** toggle at the top of **Home** apply to every widget.

- A widget's own filters are added on top of the board's.
- Timeline widgets use the board's day, week or month buckets.
- Ready-made panels follow only the date range and platform filter.

## Who sees a board

Boards belong to a project environment, so production and test have separate boards. Everyone on the project's team, admin or member, sees the same boards and can create, edit and delete them. There are no private boards.

On plans with the [audit log](https://docs.grovs.io/docs/enterprise/audit-log), board creation, renames, deletions and every widget change are recorded.
