# Exports

> Export historical events as a file or through a destination, and export links and segment members as CSV.

Each export runs in the background and ends with an email.

## Events

The event export reads your retained analytics history. It covers events from before you connected the [event stream](https://docs.grovs.io/docs/data/event-stream) and gaps older than its 7 days. It needs the event stream's paid plan and an instance admin.

### 1. Open Exports

Go to **Developers → Data Export → Exports**.

### 2. Pick the dates

Choose a **Date range**, such as **Last 30 days**, or set your own. The range is up to 92 days, ends today or earlier, and falls within your plan's data retention.

### 3. Pick the delivery

Under **Send export to**, choose **Email me a download link** or one of your destinations.

### 4. Start it

Click **Start export**, check the details, and click **Confirm export**.

### Email download

- The email links to one gzip NDJSON file, with one [event envelope](https://docs.grovs.io/docs/data/event-stream#the-event-envelope) per line.
- The file includes every event type, purchases included, with country-level location only.
- The link works for 24 hours.

### Through a destination

- The range is sent through the destination, filtered by its event types and its IP and city setting.
- Exported events can arrive mixed with live events. Deduplicate by `id` as usual.
- While the destination is paused or backing off after failures, the export waits. Grovs rechecks every 15 minutes and starts once delivery runs.
- If the export fails partway, it resumes where it stopped instead of sending everything again.

Both deliveries export purchases at their latest version.

When a destination falls more than 7 days behind, Grovs emails you the exact range it skipped. Export that range to fill the gap.

## Links

On **Links → Dynamic Links**, pick a date range and click **Export**. Grovs emails a CSV of the links on the active or archived list, with their metrics for that range. The file is deleted after 24 hours.

Columns: `Link ID`, `Name`, `Title`, `Subtitle`, `Updated At`, `Generated From Platform`, `SDK Generated`, `Tags`, `Active`, `Access Path`, `View`, `Open`, `Install`, `Reinstall`, `Reactivation`, `Avg Engagement Time`, `Time Spent`, `Data` and `Campaign`.

## Segment members

On a segment's page, click **Export CSV**. Grovs emails you when the file is ready. Download it from the segment's **Exports** panel within 24 hours. See [Members and exports](https://docs.grovs.io/docs/analytics/segments/members-and-exports#export-to-csv).
