ChatGPT

Add Grovs to ChatGPT so you can manage links and pull analytics from a chat.

Add the Grovs MCP server to ChatGPT and you can create deep links, pull analytics, and change project settings from any conversation.

Custom MCP connectors require a ChatGPT Plus or Pro plan and are currently part of the Developer Mode beta. Business, Enterprise, and Edu plans also support connectors when enabled by an admin.

Prerequisites

  • A ChatGPT Plus or Pro account
  • A Grovs account with at least one project

Setup

1

Enable Developer Mode

In ChatGPT, go to Settings → Apps & Connectors → Advanced settings and toggle Developer Mode to on.

This unlocks the ability to add custom MCP connectors. You only need to do this once.

2

Add the Grovs connector

Go back to Settings → Apps & Connectors and click Add new connector (or + Add).

Fill in the form:

  • Name: Grovs
  • MCP Server URL: https://mcp.grovs.io/mcp
  • Authentication: OAuth

Click Create (or Connect).

3

Authorize access

ChatGPT opens an authorization window:

  1. Log in to your Grovs account if prompted
  2. Review the permissions and click Authorize
  3. The window closes and ChatGPT confirms the connection
4

Start using Grovs

In any conversation, enable the Grovs connector from the chat tools menu, then try:

  • "Show me my Grovs projects"
  • "Create a smart link for the landing page"
  • "What are the analytics for my top links?"

ChatGPT will use the Grovs tools to fulfill your request.

If you are self-hosting Grovs, replace mcp.grovs.io with your own MCP subdomain.

Managing the Connection

Open Settings → Apps & Connectors, click the Grovs connector, and select Disconnect or Remove.

You can also revoke access from the Grovs dashboard — see Revoking access.

Troubleshooting

Grovs tools not appearing

  • Verify the connector is active in Settings → Apps & Connectors
  • Make sure you've enabled the connector for the current chat via the tools menu
  • Check that your ChatGPT plan supports custom connectors
  • Try disconnecting and reconnecting the server

Authorization fails

  • Check that your browser allows popups from chatgpt.com
  • Verify you can access https://mcp.grovs.io in your browser
  • Make sure Authentication is set to OAuth when adding the connector

"Server unavailable" errors

  • Check Grovs status for any outages
  • If self-hosting, verify your MCP subdomain is correctly configured and reachable from the public internet
