What are MAUs?
How Grovs counts monthly active users, and what happens when you pass your plan's limit.
A monthly active user (MAU) is a unique visitor that sends at least one event to Grovs in a calendar month. Visitors include people who open your links in a browser and devices running your app with the Grovs SDK.
- The count covers the project's production and test environments together.
- It resets to zero on the first day of each month.
- See the current count under Settings → Usage & Billing.
The free allowance
Without a paid plan, a project can have up to 10,000 MAUs a month. Grovs checks the count about every 10 minutes.
Once a month passes the allowance, link redirects show a quota page instead of redirecting. They work again when the month resets or when you choose a paid plan. Paid plans include a larger allowance, shown under Settings → Usage & Billing.
Self-hosted
Self-hosted deployments do not enforce MAU limits.
