Reports and metrics

What the Links, Campaigns, Visitors, Referrals and Events pages show, and what each metric means.

Each report shows the same events from a different angle. For charts you design yourself, see Dashboards.

Metrics

MetricMeaning
ViewsA link was opened in a web browser.
OpensThe app was opened as a direct result of a link.
InstallsThe app was installed after someone accessed a link.
ReinstallsSomeone who had uninstalled the app installed it again through a link.
ReactivationsSomeone returned to the app after 7 or more days without opening it.
Time spentTotal time spent in the app by the devices in the row.
RevenuePurchases attributed to the row, when revenue tracking is on. See Revenue.

Links → Dynamic Links lists links created in the dashboard with views, opens, installs, reinstalls, reactivations, time spent and revenue. Links created through the SDK or the API are not listed.

Campaigns

Links → Campaigns totals the metrics of every link in a campaign: views, opens, installs, reinstalls, reactivations, app opens, users referred and revenue. Users referred counts installs that came directly from the campaign's referrals.

Visitors

Audience → Visitors shows one row per visitor, whichever link or campaign brought them. A visitor who clicks a link without the app gets a view. If they then install and open the app, they also get an install and an open.

ColumnMeaning
SDK IdentifierThe user identifier your app set through the SDK, if any.
PlatformThe visitor's platform.
ViewsTimes the visitor opened a Grovs link in a browser.
OpensTimes the visitor opened the app from a Grovs link.
InstallsWhether the visitor installed the app (0 or 1).
ReinstallsTimes the visitor reinstalled the app through Grovs links.
ReactivationsTimes the visitor came back after 7 or more days.
Invited UsersUsers who installed the app after this visitor invited them.
Time spentTotal time the visitor spent in the app.

Referrals

Audience → Referrals shows the people each visitor invited and what they did: views, opens, installs, reinstalls, reactivations, invited users and time spent. Use it to find referrers who bring in active users. To work with a group of users, build a segment.

Referral tracking needs a user identifier set in the SDK, such as your database user ID. Without one, Grovs cannot tell who invited whom.

Events

Analytics → Events lists every event your app sends: link events, app opens, screen views, custom events and purchases. Filter by event fields and pick a date range.

contains and is not filters, and free-text search, only reach the recent part of your plan's data retention. On an older range the page shows "Filters can't search this far back". Narrow the range or remove those filters.
